Final Cut Pro Users Group plans to organise an IBC 'Supermeet'
The Final Cut Pro Users Group will be at IBC, the event for those involved in the creation, management and delivery of content for the entertainment industry.
The group plans to organise the European equivalent of an IBC 'Supermeet' around the show, a grass-roots user event for both Mac and PC video professionals that has become the highlight of NAB in recent years.
Daniel Berube of the Boston Final Cut Pro User Group, and Michael Horton of the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group have committed themselves to delivering the same type of self-funded event this year at IBC.
The last Supermeet at NAB attracted more than 1,500 people with more than 50,000 users watching the podcast. Using a very simple formula of great entertainment and thousands of dollars worth of door prizes, the FCUPG Supermeet is one of the most talked about events in the industry.
The event takes place September 14, 2008, 7pm until sometime after midnight. The meeting will be held at the "Gashouder" building on the grounds of the Culture Park Westergasfabriek, about 15 minutes from Central Station.
