Epson Stylus Pro 3880 is the successor of the Epson Stylus Pro 3800
Epson has introduced the Epson Stylus Pro 3880 professional A2+ photo printer.
The 3880 uses Epson’s advanced, fourth generation UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta pigment inks to deliver long lasting, high quality large format prints in both black and white and full colour insist the company.
The A2+ printer comes with Epson’s patented Micro Piezo print head that ensures accurate ink placement, while individual ink cartridges should help increase the economy and green credentials of colour printing.
The 3880 incorporates a special driver mode explains Epson, that allows professional users to create bespoke black tones and clear whites, promising a level of precision and artistic control. Three levels of black and the enlarged greyscale supplied by Epson’s UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta ink technology.
The 3880 offers improved colour stability after just 30 minutes with no visible colour shift, making it an suitable option printer for use in proofing. Customers can sign-off proofs quickly and have the certainty that what they see is what they will get in the final print run says Epson.
Consistency of output means that the Epson Stylus Pro 3880 is also ideal for remote proofing.
The 3880 is compatible with a range of Epson media including glossy paper, matte paper, fine art paper, plain paper, proofing paper and poster-board of up to 1.5 mm in thickness. Users can benefit from border and borderfree printing in a range of photo sizes from 4"x6" up to 17"x22"
The printer can be fed with different papers via three paper paths; auto sheet feeder, rear manual feeder for fine art paper and front manual insertion feeder for rigid media.
The smaller printer footprint makes the 3880 ideal for small studios or home studio set-ups says Epson.
The Epson Stylus Pro 3880 is the successor of the Epson Stylus Pro 3800 and will be available from October 2009, with a SRP of £995.

Great news... Epson is going in the right direction. But, they should not expect me to go into buying their new printers until they update their drivers for Snow leopard on their latest printers like the PX800FW and R2880. Reminds me of HP when Vista came out...

I second that! Epson suck when it comes to updating printer drives. I can't use Snow Leopard because my Epson Pro 4000 won't let me. Buy something else!
