"The next full version update of Lightroom will not run on PowerPC-based Mac computers"
Lightroom, Adobe's photography software for importing, processing, managing and showcasing images, will in future only run on Intel based Macs only.
Adobe on Wednesday put PowerPC users on notice with an updated FAQ confirming future versions of Adobe Creative Suite, including popular applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver will be Intel based only.

Lightroom has now followed suit, Tom Hogarty confirming on the Lightroom Journal Adobe blog.
"I tweeted this information yesterday but it deserves a broader announcement here on the blog. The next full version update of Lightroom will not run on PowerPC-based Mac computers. Lightroom 2 updates will continue to support PowerPC," wrote Hogarty.
Lightroom 2, Creative Suite 3 and Creative Suite 4 will continue to run on both PowerPC and Intel machines, but Adobe will limit all future updates to the programs to fixing "critical issues."
