Booq Folio for iPad review
As the name suggests the Folio from Booq, a specialist in premium laptop bags, backpacks and iPad carrying cases, is a folio style iPad case. Handcrafted from, what the company claims is 100 per cent natural fibre, the Folio has a nice, tactile and quality feel about it. Designed for iPad 2 and the third generation iPad, the case features a tri-folded cover design which acts as a fairly sturdy and accommodating iPad stand. This can be manipulated to create a suitable viewing angle for which ever task you might have in mind - viewing video, reading and more. The Folio comes with Apple Smart Case style built-in magnets, making it compatible with the iPad's automatic sleep and wake functions.
By design the Folio does add a little bulk to your iPad, although little in the way of weight at just 0.30 kg. It isn't the easiest case to remove in a hurry although we are pleased to say access to ports, controls and the camera works well despite the snug fit. Currently the Folio comes in a choice of colours, although these perhaps with a nod to business, are all fairly muted, and with the exception of purple, all rather masculine. Booq are clearly a premium brand and that's reflected in the price, which despite the quality feel, is still an investment to be considered.
The Folio from Booq is a good choice for iPad users combining stylish design with solid, quality build and functionality, which is reflected in the premium price. Providing Apple doesn't radically change the design of the iPad, it's one case that looks like it's built to last.
