iMM747 Audio Cube review
iLuv’s iMM747 docking system looks rugged but it’s let down by the overuse of plastic rather than metal components. This does, however, make it the lightest of the docks we’ve tested.
All devices are held in portrait orientation on this dock, which means video playback is restricted to a smaller view, but the iMM747 is more about music than other media. With included jAura sound – effectively a main speaker and tweeter with a plastic bass radiator at the bottom and rear – it’s capable of loud and generally clean sound.
The iMM747 comes with a mini-USB cable for syncing your iOS devices to a Mac without undocking and a line-in socket for audio output, so it’s perfect for desktop use. A free iLuv app adds alarm clock and internet radio options, so it’s ideal as a bedside dock too.
A spring-loaded rear portion of the dock connector means that all iPad, iPhone and iPod models connect without adaptors. For the price, iLuv’s dock is a solid option.
