Rough Guide to iPods
The second edition of The Rough Guide to iPods is a good introduction for new buyers. It’s easy to read, with information shared in bite-sized chunks, and offers the sort of common-sense advice novices need.
Now updated to include the iPod nano, the book informs users on choosing, using, extending, troubleshooting and understanding the popular device, as well as iTunes. At the back, it lists the best of the emerging ‘iLifestyle’ iPod-inspired sites. Simple tutorials help music lovers digitise vinyl and cassettes, while one section offers information on iPod-friendly iTunes alternatives for Mac and Windows systems.
If you’re an old-hand with the iPod, there’s little here for you. But for the millions of new owners, the book offers a useful reference guide. If you know someone who has just bought or is about to buy an iPod, it makes a good stocking-filler.
