Belkin N+ Wireless Router review

We liked the N1 Vision router that Belkin launched last year, although it was a little pricey at the time (£140). So we were pleased to see the more affordable N+ router with its added features that let you share and back up files and save energy.

That’s good value for money, especially as the N+ includes both a Wireless-N router and an ADSL modem, so you don’t need to use a separate modem to connect to the internet, as is the case with some of these routers. There are also four Ethernet ports for wired connections, and a USB port that allows you plug in a USB hard drive and use it as shared storage on your network.

OUR VERDICT

The N+ provided a clear, strong signal during our tests, and we were pleased to see that it works well with Macs. Belkin’s ‘EasyInstall’ software runs on both Macs and PCs, and even provides two sets of options for beginners and more experienced users who prefer to configure security and other settings themselves.
