Amazon Prime Day is expected to return for its fifth year this summer, bringing deals as big as Black Friday's on Apple products and accessories. Here, we share everything you need to know about Amazon Prime Day 2019, including how to get the best deals.

Prime Day, which was actually a day and a half in 2018, is a huge sales event with discounts across millions of products across the globe on Amazon.

It's exclusively for Amazon Prime members, so if you want to take advantage the deals when they arrive, you’ll need to become a Prime member. It’s £79/$119 per year or £7.99/$12.99

However, if you’re not sure you want to commit just yet but would like to make the most of the Prime Day deals, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial here within 30 days of the event.

Amazon Prime is a service that began life as a way to get unlimited next day delivery, but has since become much more. Subscribers get access to Amazon's Netflix rival Prime Video, plus plenty of other benefits. Find out more here.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2019?

Amazon hasn't confirmed that Amazon Prime Day 2019 is happening at all yet, but with the deals event growing in popularity and success every year, we think it's very likely it'll return.

Since the first of its kind in 2015, Prime Day has taken place in July. It's usually on the second Tuesday in July, but in 2018 it was later than usual to avoid clashing with the World Cup.

The most likely date for Amazon Prime Day 2019 is therefore Tuesday 9 July, but it's also possible that it'll take place on 16 July.

Best Amazon Prime Day Apple deals

On Amazon Prime Day, you'll find plenty of deals on Apple products and accessories. Plus, as the event has grown in popularity, other retailers have begun hosting deals events at the same time, so you can find excellent prices on Apple products across the web too.

We bring you all of the best Apple deals on Amazon Prime Day from Amazon and beyond here on the day itself, but even now there are some great deals to be had.

Our team of experts is scouring the web all year round to find you the best Apple deals. Our current top ten is shown below.

While Apple itself doesn’t join in on Amazon Prime Day, there are plenty of retailers that recognise that it’s worth joining in the fun so expect to see deals events from some of your favourites including:

As mentioned, you’ll need to sign up to Amazon Prime (or the free trial) to get access to the deals. You should also make sure your payment and shipping information is up to date to make sure you can purchase products before they sell out.

If you come across a deal that has sold out, you can usually join the waitlist to be alerted to any stock that becomes available, usually because someone has decided they don’t want to purchase it after all and removes it from their basket.

You can also use the Watch this Deal button on upcoming deals to be alerted when they become available.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Prime Day is rapidly becoming as well-known as Black Friday. It’s a deals event hosted by Amazon exclusively for Prime members, with more than a million bargains available across its varied catalogue.

This will be the fifth Amazon Prime Day to take place, and the longest yet. 2017's Prime Day was 30 hours, but Amazon added an extra six to that for a whole 36 hours of frantic deal hunting time in 2018.

1. Apple iPhone XR plus AirPods (2019)

From: Three

Now: £49 upfront, £52 per month

Great news! Three has finally started bundling the second-gen AirPods with its phone contracts instead of the old ones, but hasn't cranked up the prices - this XR deal, for example, is highly appealing. Click 'Plans with Airpods 2 & Charging Case' to see the offers.

The company also does AirPods bundles with the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

2. Apple iPhone XS with 60GB data

From: EE

Now: £129.99 upfront, £54 per month

Right now, the two best iPhone XS deals are both from EE, and this is our favourite, offering masses of data and free subscriptions to BT Sport, Apple Music and Amazon Prime. If the upfront payment puts you off, consider the company's £50/£59 alternative - although you'll end up spending a little more in the long run.

3. Apple 27in iMac, 3.7GHz six-core, 5K Retina Display, 2TB Fusion Drive (2019)

From: Laptops Direct

Was: £2,249

Now: £2,019.97  (£229.03 off)

You can get a new 3.7GHz, 6-core (9th gen) iMac - that's the top of the range iMac model for 2019 - from Laptops Direct for just over £2,000 right now.

4. Apple 13in MacBook Pro, 2.3GHz quad-core, 256GB, Touch Bar (2018)

From: Amazon

Was: £1,749

Now: £1,569  (£280 off 2018 price)

This deal cuts the price of the 2018 Touch Bar version of the 13in MacBook Pro (there's now a new 2019 model). This version was previously £1,749 at Apple but the 2019 is only a minor processor bump (not a generational change) so we'd recommend this deal.

5. Apple iPhone X (SIM-free)

From: Amazon

Was: £999

Now: £799  (£200 off)

The iPhone X from 2017 is no longer sold by Apple, but remains an excellent phone. Amazon's price has gone up since the start of June - it used to be £729, and may go back down if you can afford to be patient - but this is still a solid price.

6. Apple iPad Pro 11in (2018)

From: Amazon

Was: £769

Now: £719  (£50 off)

Here's the lowest price we can find for the latest generation of iPad Pro - this is the 11in model with 64GB and Wi-Fi, in silver. The Space Grey version is £744.

7. Apple iPhone XR with 5GB data

From: iD

Now: £49.99 upfront, £39.99 per month

This is a superb deal for the iPhone XR from Carphone Warehouse's in-house network. Grab it now.

8. Apple iPhone 8 with 30GB data

From: EE

Now: £33 per month, £25 cashback

EE's iPhone 8 deal has improved hugely since the start of June - the upfront fee has been dropped and the cashback offer effectively reduces the monthly fee to £31.96.

9. Apple iPhone XS Max with 15GB data

From: Vodafone

Now: £129.99 upfront, £54 per month

Vodafone's XS Max deal, which was launched at the start of May, is the best on the market, offering a (comparatively) low monthly fee and overall cost of ownership.

10. Apple 13in MacBook Air, 1.6GHz dual-core, 256GB (2018) [Scan]

From: Scan

Was: £1,399

Now: £1,289.99  (£109.01 off)

You can get your hands on the 2018 MacBook Air - the one with 256GB of storage - from Scan. The discount is just over £100.

11. Apple AirPods with Charging Case (2019)

From: EE

Now: £14 a month for 11 months

By bundling the new AirPods with your EE contract, you make a small saving on the £159 RRP and spread the cost out.

12. Apple iPhone XR with 30GB data

From: Vodafone

Now: £79.99 upfront, £42 per month

This is our pick of the big-data XR contracts, with a 30GB allowance and low monthly fee - although Vodafone has whacked up the upfront cost by £20 since the start of June, and halved the data allocation while it's at it.

EE's £9.99 upfront/£49 per month still offers the full 60GB, plus free subscriptions to BT Sport, Apple Music and Amazon Prime. But on the basis of total cost of ownership, we narrowly prefer Vodafone's deal.

13. Apple 21.5in iMac, 3.6GHz quad-core, 4K Retina Display, 1TB Hard Drive (2019)

From: Laptops Direct

Was: £1,249

Now: £1,109.97  (£139.03 off)

If it's the 2019 3.6GHz quad-core iMac you want, then check out Laptops Direct. The discount has increased since the start of May; you're now getting more than £100 off.

14. Otterbox iPhone Cases

From: Otterbox

Now: 20% off accessories  (with case purchase)

We've featured Otterbox in many of our best iPhone cases round ups. Right now, when you buy a phone case from its site, you can also get 20% off accessories like screen protectors and cables.

15. Apple Watch Series 4 (40mm, cellular)

From: Vodafone

Now: £29 per month

You can get the cellular version of the Series 4 from Vodafone for £29 per month, with no upfront payment. The price has gone up since the start of 2019 (it used to be £25 a month) but remains a fair deal.

16. Apple Mac mini, 3.0GHz 6-core, 256GB (2018)

From: Laptops Direct

Was: £1,099

Now: £999.97  (£99.03 off)

Laptops Direct is offering the newest 2018 Mac mini (with a 256GB SSD and i5 processor, so not the entry-level model) for under £1,000 - a nice deal. It normally costs £1,099.

17. Apple 21.5in iMac, 3.0GHz quad-core, 4K Retina Display, 1TB HD (2017)

From: Laptops Direct

Was: £1,249

Now: £1,173.97  (£75.03 off 2017 price)

One step up from the non-Retina iMac is the base model of the 21.5in iMac with 4K Retina display. This is the 2017 model, so a newer version is now available from Apple, but this one is available with a discount on the original price from Laptops Direct. (We've seen better prices on Laptops Direct previously though, it was £1,143 at the beginning of June 2019).

18. Apple Student Discount

From: Apple (via Student Beans)

Now: Up to 10% off Mac

This student discount offer also gets you up to 5% off the iPad and up to 20% off Apple Care.

19. Apple 21.5in iMac, 3.4GHz quad-core, 4K Retina Display, 1TB Fusion Drive (2017) [Amazon]

From: Amazon

Was: £1,449

Now: £1,069.00  (£380 off 2017 price)

You can save on the original price of this 2017 21.5in iMac at Amazon. This model has a 4K display and a 1TB Fusion Drive which combines an SSD with a hard drive for the best of both worlds. Note that Apple updated the iMac range in March 2019 and this model has been replaced with a new iMac with better specs so the previous price is a little misleading. Still, it's a much better price than the current entry-level iMac that Apple is still selling for £1,049 despite the fact that it's from 2017 too, on which basis we recommend this deal.

20. Bitdefender Antivirus For Mac

From: Bitdefender

Was: £39.99

Now: £19.99  (50% off)

One of our top antivirus picks for Mac is Bitdefender, which has 50% off right now for up to three devices.
