After some fairly disappointing offers from the big A over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, you know as well as we do that to find the best prices on Apple hardware you need to look to other retailers.

Though current-generation Apple products rarely feature huge discounts, older Apple gadgets can come at seriously tempting prices - and these are the products that are going to make the best gifts. Apple Watch Series 3 is a case in point, and now available for just £199 it comes at an ideal price point for slinging under the Christmas tree and making someone very happy indeed.

But scratching around for Apple deals can be a fool's game, and a sure-fire way to lose time you probably can't afford to spare. The good news is we've taken that hit for you, and you can put your trust in our team of Apple experts to bring you only the Apple deals worth knowing about.

What's Apple doing for Christmas 2019?

As it happens Apple has not announced its plans for Christmas 2019, though we expect it will be more of the same we've seen before - which is to say, not a lot.

In 2018 it ran a four-day Christmas Sale event, which was actually held over the Black Friday weekend. This year we saw another four-day event, in which it offered gift cards that didn't get you money off what you wanted to buy, but money off an additional Apple product. Sucks if you want only one.

Apple's just not all that into Christmas it seems - even its 12 Days of Christmas promotion, which used to run from Boxing Day until early January offering a free app, game, song, TV show, book or movie each day, hasn't seen the light of day since 2013. So it looks like you're going to have to get your Apple Christmas kicks elsewhere.

Don't worry, help is here...

Top Apple Deals right now

1. Apple 27in iMac, 3.1GHz six-core, 10th-gen, 256GB SSD (2020)

From: KRCS

Was: £1,799

Now: £1,709.05  (£89.95 off)

KRCS has already discounted the new 2020 27in iMac. You can get the 3.1GHz 6-core, 10th-gen, 2020 iMac for £1,709.05 - a really decent discount for such a new model.

2. Apple 21.5in iMac, 3.6GHz quad-core, 4K Retina Display (2019) with 256GB SSD

From: KRCS

Was: £1,299

Now: £1,234.06  (£64.94 off)

It might only be a small discount - and even smaller if you compare it to the £1,249 that this iMac was selling for before the 'update' in August, but the fact that you get a better SSD for less than the old model (which was hampered by the hard drive) makes this a decent deal.

3. Apple 15in MacBook Pro, 2.3GHz, eight-core i9, 16GB RAM, 512GB (2019)

From: Amazon

Was: £2,699

Now: £1,983.07  (£715.13 off original price)

Save money on the top-of-the-range 2019 15in MacBook Pro with this Amazon deal. That's an 8-core 2.3GHz i9 9th generation Intel processor!

Apple has discontinued this Mac but its spec is actually quite similar to the new 16in model that would cost £2,799.

4. Apple 13in MacBook Pro, 2.4GHz, quad-core, 256GB, Silver (2019)

From: Currys PC World

Was: £1,699

Now: £1,199.97  (£499.03 off original price)

Here's a saving on the 2019 13in MacBook Pro with 2.4GHz Quad-core processor - it's the 256GB version that would have cost £1,699 at launch, while the newer equivalent retails at £1,799.

5. Apple AirPods Pro

From: Appliances Direct

Was: £249

Now: £199.97  (£49 off)

The AirPods Pro are Apple's ultimate in-ear headphones. They offer active noise cancellation and three sizes of soft flexible silicon tips for a customisable, comfortable fit. Right now you can get £49 off the usual price with Appliances Direct (who are claiming it's £59 off but that's not true!).

6. Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max

From: Amazon

Was: £1,149

Now: £999  (£150 off)

You can save £150 if you buy a iPhone 11 Pro Max right now. The 64GB model, which usually costs £1,149, is currently £999 at Amazon.

Amazon also has the 256GB iPhone 11 Pro Max for £1,162.66 - that's a discount of £136.34 here. While the 512GB model is currently £150 off, at £1,349 here.

7. Apple iPhone 11 with 20GB data

From: iD Mobile

Now: £49.99 upfront, £34.99 per month (£889.75 TCO)

This deal offers twenty times as much data as the one we recommended in July, but still costs £119 less over the course of the contract. Great value!

iD is really smashing the deals right now. Some of these are so good that it's almost tempting to buy now despite the looming iPhone 12 launch...

8. Apple iPhone SE (2020, with 2GB data)

From: EE

Now: £100 upfront, £20 per month (£580 TCO)

An excellent deal on Apple's new 4.7in handset (even if the company has bumped the upfront fee by one measly pound since mid-May). Scroll down to see the details.

9. Apple 16in MacBook Pro, 2.3GHz i9 8-core 16GB/1TB Silver (2019)

From: John Lewis

Was: £2,799

Now: £2,479  (£320 off)

John Lewis has money off the top of the range 16in MacBook Pro! It means that you can get the most powerful MacBook Pro laptop ever for much less than Apple's asking price.

Earlier this summer John Lewis had an even more amazing saving (it was listed for £2,149, which is £650 off) but that sold out quickly!

10. Apple 13in MacBook Air, 1.1GHz quad-core, 512GB (2020)

From: Currys/PC World

Was: £1,299

Now: £1,185  (£114 off)

This is the 2020 quad-core MacBook Air with 512GB storage. You can get it from Currys/PC World or there is a similar deal over at AO.com.

11. Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max with unlimited data

From: iD Mobile

Now: £99 upfront, £49.99 per month (£1298.76 TCO)

This is a big improvement, both in data allocation and price, from the Vodafone deal we were recommending last month; no doubt iD is influenced by the upcoming iPhone 12 launch.

We'd recommend waiting until Apple reveals the next generation, but if you need to buy now this is the deal to go for.

12. Apple iPhone XS Max with 72GB data

From: Vodafone

Now: £49.99 upfront, £51 per month

Pick up Vodafone's high-data XS Max deal for £49.99 upfront.

13. Apple iPhone XS with 100GB data

From: Three

Now: £39.99 upfront, £36 per month

Three is offering the best XS deal right now - click the Three logo to see the details. We prefer this to EE's offering (nothing upfront, but £38 per month) because it works out slightly cheaper over the course of the contract (£903.99 rather than £912), and comes with twice as much data.

14. Apple MacBook Air, 1.1GHz dual-core, 256GB (2020)

From: KRCS

Was: £999

Now: £949.06  (£49.94 off)

You can get money off the 2020 MacBook Air from KRCS.

The deal isn't quite as good as it was earlier this summer when you could get it for £899, but it's not bad.

Amazon also has an identical deal on this model, but it has a long delivery time (up to two months!). You can check it out here.

15. Apple iPhone 11 with 72GB data

From: Vodafone

Now: £49 upfront, £43 per month

Pick up the latest iPhone from Carphone Warehouse and get 72GB data from Vodafone.

If you can afford £99 upfront, the total cost of ownership comes down by £16 - this alternative deal is available from the same link.

16. Apple iPhone XS (SIM-free)

From: John Lewis

Was: £999

Now: £629  (£370 off)

A fantastic deal. The XS remains an excellent phone, despite having been effectively replaced by the iPhone 11 Pro.

17. Apple Watch Series 4 Nike+ (44mm, cellular, refurbished)

From: Apple Refurbished Store

Was: £479

Now: £359  (£120 off)

You can grab yourself a sweet deal on a refurb of the larger 44mm variant of Apple Watch Series 4 right now. It's the Nike+ edition too, with a cool matching sports band and Nike+ watchfaces available too.

18. Apple AirPods with Charging Case (2019)

From: BT Shop

Was: £159

Now: £129  (£30 off)

BT is offering the AirPods with Charging Case for £30 less.

19. Apple iPad Pro 10.5in (2017, renewed)

From: Amazon

Was: £529

Now: £384.99  (£144 off)

This is a great price on the Wi-Fi 10.5in iPad Pro. Note that it's part of the generation before the current one, having launched in 2017 - the iPad Pro 10.5in is still a powerful device, though - and 'renewed' devices are Amazon's equivalent of Apple's refurbished line, which means it's second-hand but fixed up and backed by a new guarantee.

20. Apple Watch Series 3 (38mm)

From: Argos

Was: £199

Now: £189  (£10 off)

With £10 off the relatively affordable RRP, this is a good saving on the smaller 38mm version of the Series 3. In fact, this is the cheapest you can buy it online right now.

That's just the top 20 - there's a load more of where that came from right here.

Where to find the best Apple deals

Beyond Apple, you can expect to find great Christmas deals from authorised Apple resellers such as KRCS. KRCS covers the full range of Apple products, including AppleCare coverage and Beats headphones.

Of course, Amazon is the ultimate juggernaut to watch. We would recommend signing up for the 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime so you can take advantage of the Lightning Deals.

Lightning Deals slash prices off limited stock items, which is why the deals only last a few hours. The benefit of a Prime membership is that you would be able to access the Lightning Deals 30 minutes in advance of non-members.
