Cyber Monday may have originated from the US, but that doesn't mean UK shoppers can't indulge in frenzied online savings on popular brands and products. We outline how to prepare for Cyber Monday this year, where to get the best savings on Apple products, and how to spot a good deal.

When is Cyber Monday 2018?

Cyber Monday is set for November 26, 2018. It typically falls on the Monday after US Thanksgiving, and of course, Black Friday, the other colossal savings event. Here's how to prepare for Black Friday 2018.

While November may be far from now, that does give plenty of time to shortlist which Apple products you want, and which retailers you want to snag them from. It's also a good time to see reviews of Apple products before you go ahead and track down a deal.

How to get best Cyber Monday deals?

Spotting a good Cyber Monday deal takes a bit of work – in the least, it's a good idea to know the usual RRPs on the Apple device you're interested in.

Of course, the RRPs depend on the configuration of the device too. Apple conveniently charts configurations and starting prices on its products:

  • MacBook and iMacs - see pricing differences across MacBook and iMac models based on screen size, processors, storage and more. You can choose up to two devices to compare side by side.
  • iPads - compare capacities and prices across all iPads, including Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi and Cellular models
  • iPhones - use the drop down on Apple's site to compare configurations on up to three different iPhone models. Clicking through to an individual model will take you to the RRP.
  • Apple Watch - see prices across Series 1, Series 3 GPS, and Series 3 GPS and Cellular models
  • Apple TV - compare capacity and price across Apple TV against Apple TV 4K

Where to find Cyber Monday Apple deals

While Apple has slowed to offering discounts outright on its devices, last year it did bundle Black Friday gift cards worth up to £120/US$150 with purchases. This was however only a one-day event that did not carry into Cyber Monday. Read more in our Black Friday Apple deals article.

If Apple doesn't run any promotion, you can still expect to find great Cyber Monday deals from authorized Apple resellers such as KRCS. KRCS cover the full range of Apple products, including AppleCare coverage and Beats headphones. See KRCS's offers here.

Of course, Amazon is the ultimate Cyber Monday juggernaut to watch. We would recommend signing up for the 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime so you can take advantage of the Lightning Deals.

Lightning Deals slash prices off limited stock items, which is why the deals only last a few hours. The benefit of a Prime membership is that you would be able to access the Lightning Deals 30 minutes in advance of non-members, which can come particularly handy in the madness of Cyber Monday.

Amazon has a dedicated Cyber Monday deals page – which at the moment is simply its Deals of the Day page. Keep tabs on it as Cyber Monday draws near.

Retailers (like Amazon) do often extend Cyber Monday deals into what is turning into Cyber Week – though the best deals may be reserved for the Monday alone. Nevertheless, it's a good idea to keep an eye on the competing retailers that offer Apple products, some of which include:

This includes up to 10% off Mac, 5% off the iPad, 50% off AppleCare and up to 8% off accessories. We expect to see more deals here as Cyber Monday rolls in.
