If you're in the market for a new MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, now is a good time to buy as resellers clear out older stock at a discount with the early release of the new MacBook Pro models on 21 May – ahead of the WWDC 2019 in June.

You can order the new 13in and 15in MacBook Pros directly from Apple. Prices start at £1,749/US$1,799 for the new 13in model with a 2.4GHz quad-core 8th-gen i5 processor,  8GM RAM and 256GB SSD. The new 15in model starts at £2,349/US$2,399 for a 2.6GHz 6-core 9th-gen i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD. See full pricing details here. (The non-Touch Bar models haven't been updated since 2017).

There will likely be a wait until resellers start to discount the new MacBook Pro models, but you may still be able to pick up a good deal on one of the older Mac laptop models, or you may even be able to pick up one of the MacBook Airs that were launched at the end of 2018 at a discount.

Our team of Apple experts have been scouring the web for the top deals, offers and discounts across the MacBook range - picking out the best money-off offers to save you time whether you want a Pro, an Air, or just a regular MacBook.

What to look for in MacBook deals

No matter what MacBook you're looking for, we'd recommend starting off with a list of the features and specs that are important to you and how much you'd like to spend.

Don't be tricked into buying something you don't need because it seems like a good price, and be aware that some retailers have been known to be misleading about RRP to make a deal look better than it is. Always compare to the price on the Apple Store or, if it's an older model take a look at the Apple refurbished store to make sure you're getting good value.

Speaking of which, you also want to be careful of the age of any given MacBook as models from different years might have similar looking specs on paper. For example, the processor speed can be misleading if you aren't sure what generation of processor is being used, so take care to double-check processor speeds and generation, and even model numbers to make sure you're not paying over the odds for a laptop from a few years ago.

Luckily we've checked out the deals here and we'll tell you exactly what's on offer - and if it's an older model we'll tell you so.

Where to get MacBook deals

Apple never really offers discounts on its Mac laptops - other than through its official refurbished store. However, other resellers are offering discounts on the different MacBook models. You may find deals on the following sites:

Sometimes Amazon offers Lightning deals on laptops, if you've found that you're missing out on Amazon's Lightning deals, which run for just a few hours and offer limited stock, we'd recommend signing up for Amazon's 30 day free trial of Prime, which will get you access to deals 30 minutes before everyone else. Plus, you'll get free next-day delivery with the Prime trial, as well as access to Prime Instant Video and more. Sign up for Prime now to take advantage.
