If you're in the market for a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, now is a good time to buy as resellers clear out older stock at a discount following the release of new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models in July 2019.

Plus, with Apple discontinuing the MacBook you may still be able to buy one at a great price, so check out the deals below before it's too late!

You can order the new 13in and 15in MacBook Pros directly from Apple. Prices start at £1,299/US$1,299 for the new 13in model with a 1.4GHz quad-core 8th-gen i5 processor,  8GB RAM and 128GB SSD. The 15in model starts at £2,399/US$2,399 for a 2.6GHz 6-core 9th-gen i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD. See full pricing details here.

A number of resellers are offering discounts on the MacBook Pro models that Apple introduced in May 2019, plus you might be able to pick up a great deal on one of the older Mac laptops, including one of the MacBook Airs that were launched at the end of 2018 (which have an identical spec to the 2019 machines aside from True Tone, a new feature of the screen).

Our team of Apple experts have been scouring the web for the top deals, offers and discounts across the MacBook range - picking out the best money-off offers to save you time whether you want a Pro, an Air, or one of Apple's now-discontinued MacBooks.

1. Apple 12in MacBook, 1.2GHz dual-core, 256GB (2017)

From: Currys PC World

Was: £1,249

Now: £799  (£450 off - now discontinued by Apple!)

You can get £450 off the 2017 MacBook at Currys – that's the MacBook Apple was selling for £1,249 until it was discontinued in July 2019.

2. Apple 15in Macbook Pro, 2.6GHz six-core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB (2018)

From: Laptops Direct

Was: £2,699

Now: £2,444.98  (£254 off 2018 price)

Laptops Direct is discounting the 2018 MacBook Pro (no longer the current model); here we have what was the top-of-the-range 2018 15in MacBook Pro with 6 cores, which previously cost £2,699 (the 2019 top of the range model is £2,799). Note that it's confusing that this is listed by Laptops Direct as the "New" model, but it's the 2018 model (we can tell this because it has 512GB storage rather than 256GB).

3. Apple 15in MacBook Pro, 2.3GHz eight-core i9, 16GB RAM, 512GB (2019) [Amazon]

From: Amazon

Was: £2,799

Now: £2,548.98  (£250 off)

Save money on the top-of-the-range 2019 15in MacBook Pro with this Amazon deal. That's an 8-core 2.3GHz i9 9th generation Intel processor! Note that Apple has put the price up by £100 now, so this is actually a deal, although we have seen better discount on this model in the past.

4. Apple 13in MacBook Pro, 2.3GHz dual-core, 128GB (2017) [Amazon]

From: Amazon

Was: £1,249

Now: £1,075  (£174 off - discontinued model)

Apple has stopped selling this 2017 MacBook Pro entry-level model, but it used to cost £1,249, you can get it for less at Amazon right now. Note that this model dates back to 2017 though, and we'd recommend the similarly priced 2018/2019 MacBook Air over it, or even paying £1,249 for the new entry-level MacBook Pro.

5. Apple 13in MacBook Pro, Touch Bar, 2.4GHz, quad-core, 256GB, Silver (2019) [Amazon]

From: Amazon

Was: £1,799

Now: £1,674.96  (£124.04 off)

This is 2019's 2.4GHz MacBook Pro, it might only be a small boost to the processor speed, compared to the 2018 model, but this is still money off the newest version (and the deal is better than ever now that Apple's put up prices by £50 in the UK).

6. Apple 15in Macbook Pro, 2.6GHz six-core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB (2018)

From: Amazon

Was: £2,699

Now: £2,311  (£388 off 2018 price)

Amazon is discounting the top-of-the-range 2018 MacBook Pro (since replaced by a 8-core 9th-generation processor). This 15in MacBook Pro has 6 cores and previously cost £2,699 (although the 2019 top of the range model is £2,799).

7. Free Beats wireless headphones with Mac or iPad

From: Apple

Now: Free Beats headphones worth up to £300

Get a free pair of Beats wireless headphones worth up to £299.95 when you buy a Mac or iPad for university. You will need to verify your student status through UNiDAYS to get this deal.

8. Apple 13in MacBook Pro, Touch Bar, 2.4GHz, quad-core, 256GB, Silver (2019) [Currys]

From: Currys PC World

Was: £1,799

Now: £1,674.93  (£124.07 off)

Here's a saving on the 2019 13in MacBook Pro with 2.4GHz Quad-core processor - it's the 256GB version. Apple's put the prices up in the UK by £50, so this saving is better than ever.

9. Apple 13in MacBook Pro, 2.3GHz quad-core, 256GB, Touch Bar (2018)

From: Amazon

Was: £1,749

Now: £1,569  (£180 off 2018 price)

This deal cuts the price of the 2018 Touch Bar version of the 13in MacBook Pro (there's now a new 2019 model). This version was previously £1,749 at Apple but the 2019 is only a minor processor bump (not a generational change) so we'd recommend this deal.

10. Apple 13in MacBook Air, 1.6GHz dual-core, 128GB (2018) [Amazon]

From: Amazon

Was: £1,099

Now: £1,049  (£50 off new Apple price - 2018 model)

Amazon is selling a 2018 MacBook Air at a discount right now, but its not as good a discount as it looks now that Apple has reduced the price of the MacBook Air by £100 as of July 2019.

11. Apple 13in MacBook Pro, Touch Bar, 2.4GHz, quad-core, 256GB, Space Grey (2019)

From: KRCS

Was: £1,799.00

Now: £1,691.06  (£107.94 off)

This is the entry-level configuration for the 2019 13in MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (that now costs £1,799 from Apple, up £100 prior to July 2019). KRCS has a discount on the model. This is the Space Grey configuration, but you can also get the Silver model here.

12. Apple 13in MacBook Air, 1.6GHz dual-core, 256GB (2018) [Currys]

From: Currys PC World

Was: £1,299

Now: £1,247  (£52 off new Apple price - 2018 model)

Save on the top-of-the-range 2018 MacBook Air with this Curry's deal. The spec is the same as the 2019 model except for True Tone, which is a new feature of the screen on the newer model.

13. Apple 13in MacBook Air, 1.6GHz dual-core, 256GB (2018) [Amazon]

From: Amazon

Was: £1,299

Now: £1,212  (£87 off new Apple price - 2018 model)

Save money on the top-of-the-range MacBook Air from 2018. Note that the only difference between this and the 2019 model is that the screen offers True Tone, so this is still a good option if you don't mind that the screen is slightly inferior. But note that the discount isn't as good now that Apple has reduced the price of the MacBook Air.

14. Apple 13in MacBook Air, 1.6GHz dual-core, 128GB (2018) [Laptops Direct]

From: Laptops Direct

Was: £1,099

Now: £1,057.97  (£41 off new Apple price - 2018 model)

Here's Laptops Direct's deal on the new-look entry-level 2018 MacBook Air with Retina display. This model is practically identical to the 2019 entry-level Air - the only difference is the addition of True Tone for the display. Note: Apple knocked £100 of the price of the MacBook Air in July 2019, so the deal isn't as good as it once was.

15. Apple 13in MacBook Air, 1.6GHz dual-core, 128GB (2018) [Currys]

From: Currys PC World

Was: £1,099

Now: £1,057.97  (£41.03 off new Apple price - 2018 model)

Save money on the 2018 MacBook Air with this Currys' deal. They deceptively list it as the 3.6GHz model - that's the Turbo Boost figure, it's actually the 1.6GHz Dual-Core MacBook Air from 2018. Note the spec is pretty much the same as the 2019 model - but Apple reduced the price by £100 in July 2019, so this discount isn't as good as it once was.

16. Apple 13in MacBook Air, 1.6GHz dual-core, 128GB (2018) [VERY]

From: Very

Was: £1,099

Now: £1,079  (£20 off new Apple price - 2018 model)

Very has a slight discount on the 2018 MacBook Air (same spec as the 2019 model aside from True Tone). But as with the other Air deals, now that Apple's reduced pricing itself this deal's not as good as it was.

17. Apple 15in MacBook Pro, 2.6GHz six-core i7, 16GB RAM, 256GB (2019)

From: Jigsaw

Was: £2,399

Now: £2,314.80  (£84.20 off)

It's not a huge saving, but it is money off the 2019 15in MacBook Pro which has a 6-core i7 9th generation processor. And the saving is a little better than it was now that Apple has put up UK prices for the MacBook Pro.

18. Apple Refurbished Mac Store (Discounted iMacs, MacBooks and more)

From: Apple

Now: Up to £300 off

You can get a Mac from Apple at much lower prices if you buy from the Refurbished Store. Apple will have thoroughly tested the model and will offer you a full warranty so it can be a great way to get a good deal. Find out more about Refurbished Macs here.

What to look for in MacBook deals

No matter what MacBook you're looking for, we'd recommend starting off with a list of the features and specs that are important to you and how much you'd like to spend.

Don't be tricked into buying something you don't need because it seems like a good price, and be aware that some retailers have been known to be misleading about RRP to make a deal look better than it is. Always compare to the price on the Apple Store or, if it's an older model take a look at the Apple refurbished store to make sure you're getting good value.

Speaking of which, you also want to be careful of the age of any given MacBook as models from different years might have similar looking specs on paper (especially the 2018 and 2019 MacBook Air whose specs are identical!). For example, the processor speed can be misleading if you aren't sure what generation of processor is being used, so take care to double-check processor speeds and generation, and even model numbers to make sure you're not paying over the odds for a laptop from a few years ago.

Luckily we've checked out the deals here, and we'll tell you exactly what's on offer - so if it's an older model we'll tell you.

Where to get MacBook deals

Apple never really offers discounts on its Mac laptops - other than through its official refurbished store. However, other resellers are offering discounts on the different MacBook models. You may find deals on the following sites:

Sometimes Amazon offers Lightning deals on laptops, if you've found that you're missing out on Amazon's Lightning deals, which run for just a few hours and offer limited stock, we'd recommend signing up for Amazon's 30 day free trial of Prime, which will get you access to deals 30 minutes before everyone else. Plus, you'll get free next-day delivery with the Prime trial, as well as access to Prime Instant Video and more. Sign up for Prime now to take advantage.
