Macworld Tips: Perspective correction in Photoshop CS6

Use the Lens Correction filter rather than the Perspective Transform tool

Shoot a structure from close up and it looks like it’s falling backwards. Perspective Transform corrects the angle but makes it short and fat.

Shoot a structure from close up and it looks like it’s falling backwards. Perspective Transform corrects the angle but makes it short and fat.

 

Step 2 of 3: Step 2

Go to Filter> Lens Correction and click on Custom. Look down to Vertical Perspective under Transform. Move the slider to the left to correct it.

 

Step 3 of 3: Step 3

You do lose some areas at the bottom corners so if they are easy to clone back in move the Scale slider to the left to retain more of the rest of the image.
