Apple has kicked off its annual Back to School promotion, offering students a £70 App Store Gift Card when they buy a Mac for university, a £35 App Store Gift Card when they buy an iPad or iPad mini, and, for the first time, students can get a £35 App Store Gift Card when they buy an iPhone.

In order to get their hands on a gift card from Apple, students will need to buy a Mac, iPad or iPhone from the Apple Online Store for Education, or from an Apple Retail Store.

To qualify, customers hoping to get an educational discount on a Mac or receive a gift card need to be a university student, a student accepted into a university, a parent buying for a university student or a member of staff at a university.

To order an Apple product from the online Apple Store for Education, customers must be connected to the campus network. Alternatively, orders can be placed over the phone or in an Apple Retail Store. More information can be found on Apple's website.

The £35 and £75 App Store Gift Cards can be spent on anything in the Mac App Store, App Store, iBookstore and iTunes Store.

Apple's Back to School promotion will end on 6 September 2013, so you'll need to buy a qualifying Mac, iPad or iPhone before then if you want to get an App Store Gift Card.
