Attempting to stimulate sales of its subscription-based suite of web services, Apple is offering a £20 discount on new .Mac accounts.
Until 23 April, the company is offering anyone who buys a new Mac a £20 discount on the cost of a .Mac retail box, which contains a voucher that entitles a user to one year's subscription to the service. .Mac retail boxes usually cost £68.98.
The discount is available from Apple's online store, its network of retail stores and Apple resellers.
The move comes as critics complain the existing service seems underpowered for its price.
