Apple seems on the verge of introducing the iPhone into new markets, with a release to Dutch and Mexican customers rumoured to take place in the coming weeks.

Reports of a Dutch introduction of the product emanate from an independent reseller there, called The Innovators, who have scheduled an announcement for 29 March.

However, some industry observers point out that such a move may not happen yet, as the local mobile networks offer scant or no support for EDGE networks, which the current generation of iPhone requires.

And in Mexico, Mexico City newspaper El Universal claims Apple plans to launch the device in that country in June, warning that it will be more expensive in that country than it is just across the border in the US of A.
