Apple's senior vice president of retail Ron Johnson has made a lot of money exercising his share options.
Johnson exercised options and then sold 700,000 Apple shares, according to a Form 4 filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
The retail chief exercised options for the shares for $23.72 each, and then sold all of the shares the same day for $185 to $185.21 each. That means he made approximately $113 million before taxes on the stock sales.
He acquired the shares under Apple's 1997 Employee Stock Option Plan. Apple's stores sold 473,000 Macs in the company's last quarter, 50 per cent of these to new to the Mac customers.
