Apple will open its first retail store in China close by Tiananmen Square.
The Chinese Apple shop will be situated at Qianmen Street, IFO Apple Store reveals. a half mile street leading from the south end of the historic square, the site of a mass student pro-democracy protest in 1989.
Qianmen Street is being renovated and will reopen in May as the second pedestrian-only street in Beijing, and will host 300 shops, including big-name international brands, Starbucks, Adidas and Apple.
The report claims the store will "blend in" with existing Chinese architecture rather than fielding one of Apple's regular storefront designs.
