BitTorrent has reached a series of deals enabling it to launch its own legitimate film download service, Bloomberg reports.

The company confirmed it will offer films and TV shows from a number of media firms: 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros, Lionsgate, MGM, Paramount and MTV.

The service will also offer music, videos and games through its service, alongside a strong set of community-focused tools which will allow users to post their own videos, for example.

The news follows a November 2005 agreement with the Motion Picture Association of America in which the company began removing links to pirated copies of movies from its site.

Films will cost $3.99 for new releases, $2.99 for older films and $1.99 for TV shows.
