CBS is happy with iTunes and won't join NBC Universal and News Corp. in their battle for flexible iTunes Store pricing, CBS's chief executive Les Moonves has said.

NBC Universal last month decided not to renew its deal to sell downloads through iTunes in its struggle for more pricing control.

More recently, News Corp. chief operating officer Peter Chernin also called for flexible pricing, warning of "prickly" negotiations with Apple in future.

But CBS is happy with the existing status quo.

"We're sort of staying out of the battle," Moonves told a Merrill Lynch investor conference. "We like our relationship with iTunes."

CBS sees iTunes as a promotional vehicle for its shows, rather than a prime money earner
