From today at 12.15pm, Coldplay will begin offering their latest single `Violet Hill' as a free download from the band's website.
The single track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album `Viva La Vida or Death and all his Friends' and will be made available for free download - though only for a week, until the single officially ships on 6 May.
A free Coldplay 7-inch single is to be given away with the NME.
Also in the digital music sphere, word emerging from Nokia indicates the company’s recent ‘Comes With Music’ plan may cost the company much more than it expected.
Nokia has denied previous reports claiming it agreed to pay Universal Music $35 per handset sold, but The Register informs the company has agreed to pay the wholesale unit price on any downloads in excess of 35-songs per user.
"It will cost Nokia a fortune - it's a reckless business move," an insider said, according to the report.
