Electronic Arts seems set to go back on its promise to Apple and Mac users to release titles for Mac OS X at the same time as it releases new Windows games.
Rather than releasing games on the same day, as company spokesman Bing Gordon insinuated when he joined Apple CEO Steve Jobs on stage at WWDC in June, EA is now saying that it will release new games on the Mac “as close as possible” to the Windows launch.
At the time the company stated that it would ship Madden NFL 08 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 in sync with their worldwide launches. However, Madden has now launched on the Windows PC and Tiger Woods is expected to launch by the end of August. The Mac launches aren’t expected to launch until October, according to vnunet.com meaning Mac users must wait two more months.
