Educators continue to experiment with using iPods to boost learning, with the Financial Times newspaper offering a report on their use in a French business school.
Based in Paris and working with Apple, HEC is using iPods as tools for learning. Classes have been video taped so they can be played back on video iPods, and professors have developed extra material to supplement lectures.
The report reveals the project began in March 2006, with professors noting that with such easy-to-use technology, the focus is on content.
The school is also applying video technology and iPods to project work, such as in-class presentations. These sessions can be filmed and played back on the iPod so students can evaluate their presentation skills.
HEC also uses iPods and the podcasting support in iTunes to keep students up-to-date with school matters.
