A German department store chain has said it will sell iPhones across its outlets.

The store, Karstadt, added that it's too early to announce if the devices will be sold with or without a contract, a Reuters report observes.

A company spokesperson confirmed the move to sell iPhones in store. Apple would offer on comment, "beyond saying iPhone will be available in late 2007", the report adds.

It's still not clear which mobile network(s) in Europe will carry the device, with Vodafone often regarded as a front runner to bring it to some markets, with O2 and T-Mobile also widely seen as in position to ship Apple's smartphone in some territories.
