In China, iPhone users are more refined than Android users, according to research., referred to as the Chinese version of Yelp, has come to the conclusion, via research, that those who use the website's app for iPhone tend to lead more "elegant and romantic lifestyles" whereas Android users were labelled as "more common".

Dianping brings information about local businesses to the user, offering reviews and an ordering service. The company is based in Shanghai, China, and has over 48 million users, 33 million of those being mobile users, from whom over half a billion page views come each month. Overall in China, mobile internet users have surpassed desktop internet users.

The customers were defined as elegant or common depending on their restaurant  choice, with iPhone users spending more on eating out per head ($13) than Android users ($8). Previously, Dianping have released data showing 23 per cent of iPhone users spend over $32 per order through their app, whereas only 13 per cent of Android users do, according to the report on TheNextWeb.

Analysts claim that Apple's iPhone is popular with the Chinese growing middle classes. Many industry experts say China is key to Apple's long term growth.
