Vending machines selling iPods have been generating good business, with one machine at a US airport selling $55,000 of electronics gadgets in a month.
A local newspaper report states that the iPod-vending machine (operated by Anita Leopold's company, ZoomSystems) at Hartsfield-Jackson international airport has seen massive sales. The gadget-vending machines are now situated at over 300 spots across the US.
"We put in some iPods and found we couldn't keep them in stock," said Zoom's executive vice-president, Mark Mullins. "We found no customer resistance to swiping a card and buying a $300 item from a machine. We're selling thousands (of iPods), and the machines at the Atlanta airport are major contributors to that."
