iPod accessory and case maker iSkin has introduced two new products in its Bluetooth-equipped Cerulean range to the UK, including noise-cancelling earphones and a transmitter to drive them.
The Cerulean X1 inner ear noise-isolating earphones are compatible with the iPhone (they ship with an adaptor that lets the transmitter fit the iPhone's recessed headphone port).
The earphones promise high performance audio using the built-in 9mm Neodymium drivers encased in a specially designed bass-enhancing chamber. These are available in black or white and cost £69.99.
iSkin has also launched the Cerulean TX F1 iPod solution, a Bluetooth 2.0 solution for both Apple and PC consumers, that streams stereo sound from an iPod to wireless earphones.
The Cerulean TX F1 is a combined package of a stereo Bluetooth 2.0 transmitter (TX) and the Cerulean F1, the world's smallest stereo Bluetooth 2.0 earphones/mono headset combo. Previously only available as single items, the TX and F1 now ship as one, with both products revised and improved.
Cerulean TX F1 (£129.99) makes full use of Leopard's A2DP support for full stereo sound directly from a Mac. The 35g Cerulean F1 uses a unique 15mm driver and rare Neodymium magnet with a mylar layer for good sound reproduction.
Users can simultaneously connect their TX-equipped iPod and a mobile phone to the headset and the F1 will automatically switch from stereo earphones to mono headset mode upon receiving a call, using the built-in microphone for chat.
