Apple has signed up another independent film company to its US iTunes Store, this time IFC Entertainment.

IFC has confirmed that thriteen of its titles will initially be made available through iTunes, including all of this year's nominees for the annual Independent Spirit award.

The company's senior vice president of sales Lisa Schwartz confirmed the move aims to make independent films available to a wider audience.

"We're delighted to be adding full length independent films to the world's most popular online movie store," said Eddy Cue, Apple's vice president of iTunes. "The passion and creativity of independent cinema means a great deal to film fans and to iTunes."
