iTunes and US broadcaster PBS have introduced a new download page dedicated to the documentaries of Ken Burns on the media service.The Ken Burns effect is one of the slideshow effects offered by default in Apple's iPhoto application.
US users can purchase and download a variety of the documentary makers award-winning programmes from Apple's service, which as yet doesn't sell films or TV shows outside the US.
The Ken Burns area offers all of the Ken Burns-related multimedia available in the store, including documentaries, music, audiobooks and podcasts, including one for Burns's upcoming documentary The War, which airs on PBS in September.
Available documentaries include Jazz and titles from Ken Burns: America and Ken Burns: American Lives collections. The latter include shows detailing the work of Frank Llloyd Wright and the history of the Statue of Liberty.
The announcement was made by PBS president and CEO Paula Kerger at the Television Critics Association Press Tour.
Individual episodes range from $499 to $9.99.
