Equinux released MediaCentral 2.4 to coincide with MacExpo last week.

MediaCentral 2.4 adds customisable user interface themes, expands the TV Module and improves .Mac integration.

Customisable user interfaces allow MediaCentral users to choose from a list of colour schemes or create their own "look" for the user interface of the application.

Simplified usability appears in the form of the new Onscreen Display (OSD) menu included in the TV Module. The speed and quality of channel switching has also been improved: when a supported DVB-T/DTT device is connected to the Mac, MediaCentral's built in TV Device Configurator automatically recognises untuned TV devices and simplifies the one-time channel tuning setup.

.Mac Photocast integration has been improved, as has MediaCentral's QuickTime handling.

The software is available now. The update is free for registered MediaCentral 2.x users. Registration costs from $29.95 per Mac. A trial version of the software is available from the manufacturer's website.
