Rupert Murdoch's News Corp will not withdraw its videos for sale from iTunes, a senior executive said today.
The news is some reassurance to iTunes users. News Corp is working in partnership with NBC Universal to create the ads-supported Hulu video download service. NBC Universal recently revealed plans to withdraw content from iTunes over a pricing dispute with Apple, a move that sparked speculation News Corp would follow suit.
Not so, said News Corp president and chief operating officer Peter Chernin today, as reported by Reuters.
Chernin did hint at a desire to exercise control over pricing through iTunes, saying: "Right now we have a perfectly good relationship with Apple. But let me say this, we're the ones who should determine what the fair price for our product is, not Apple."
