A new digital music service is exploring the territory first opened-up when Radiohead offers In Rainbows for sale to fans at whatever price they chose.

US-only service Indistr is offering music fans a small selection of music, but is doing so with a new twist - buyers can name their price, with a $1 minimum, and a $20 maximum.

Once you state your bid, the service is transparent in that it immediately tells you how much of the money will be passed to the artist.

Artists can continue to upload music and bundle into albums as they have in the past on the service, but now they'll have a new option when setting the price they want to charge for the album: letting the public decide.
