Following the success of Paul the Octopus at this summer's FIFA World Cup, shopping comparison site Kelkoo has enlisted Paul's cousin to help predict this year's Christmas hits and misses.
Ollie the Octopus made his predictions on the best-selling toys, gadgets, games and films with the help of Kelkoo.
Ollie had to select between two boxes featuring rival gadgets including the Apple iPad versus the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Apple iPhone 4 versus Nokia N8 and Apple iPod touch versus SanDisk Sansa Fuze +.
Additionally Ollie was asked to pick between the Apple iPod nano 16GB and Apple iPhone 4.
Kelkoo notes: "Although Samsung's smaller 7-inch Galaxy Tab has been dubbed 'the iPad Killer' by certain media, Ollie disagrees, declaring Apple’s iPad the best-selling tablet PC this Christmas."
"UK consumers seem in agreement, and according to a recent Kelkoo survey, the iPad is set to remain the most popular choice in consumers' eyes – with over two thirds (69 per cent) opting for it over Samsung's Galaxy Tab (15 per cent), and Blackberry's Playbook (11 per cent)."
Video footage of Ollie making his predications can be found here.
The Octopus was also asked to pick between Jet Pack Buzz Lightyear versus Barbie Video Girl, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows versus Megamind, Sony PS3 Move veers Microsoft Xbox Kinect and Dannii Minogue (X Factor Winner) versus Cheryl Cole versus Simon Cowell versus Louis Walsh.
Ollie, aged two, is currently signed up as The Sun newspaper's football tipster and was born in Dorset at the Sea Life Centre in Weymouth, in the same tank as his cousin Paul, before Paul was relocated to the Sea Life Centre in Germany and Ollie to Blackpool.
All proceeds from Ollie's work engagements have been donated by his guardians at the Blackpool Sea Life Centre to www.earthseasky.org.
Sadly Paul died a few weeks ago after becoming an international star over the summer thanks to his uncanny success at predicting the outcome of World Cup games.
