Rapper Jay-Z has claimed he is set to launch a record label with Apple, according to reports.
Jay-Z was previously president of label Def Jam, but left that company in December. According to The Boy Genius Report he will enter into a partnership with Apple.
Whether Apple can enter into such an agreement is up for question. The computer company won a court battle with the Beatles' record company – Apple Corp - in 2006 only because the judge ruled that it had not broken the terms of an agreement with Apple Corp that it would not become a record label.
