Rifts between Apple and some music labels appear to be growing, with Sony chairman and CEO Howard Stringer accusing Apple CEO Steve Jobs of being "greedy".

Stringer said: "It's funny that Jobs accuses record companies of greed because they want to get paid for music downloads." According to Stringer, Jobs is greedy because he wants a word in which "only he makes money."

Stringer cast his aspersions while sitting on a discussion panel at an Allen & Co. event alongside leading lights from Google, IAC, and Amazon this week.

Stringer later backed-off from his comments, the New York Post explains.
