Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been named as the second most influential IT personality of the last 25-years.

The Computing Technology Industry Association conducted a survey among 473 industry professionals asking them who was the most influential tech guru.

Jobs was chosen by 73 per cent of the sample group, while 84 per cent selected Microsoft chairman, Bill Gates. Dell CEO Michael Dell took third place with a 53 per cent vote.

Fourth place (with 47 per cent) was shared by Linux founder, Linus Torvalds and Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page.
