Apple seems set to introduce the iPhone into Belgium by the end of June, entering the market with its new 3G model of the device.
A local report makes the claims, adding that the iPhone will be sold unlocked in the country for use with any network. The report adds that operators are busily assembling special iPhone data packages to support the launch.
Proximus, Mobistar and BASE are described as already putting together iPhone support, planning to offer visual messaging and unlimited data packages. The report informs Mobistar may gain a two month exclusive deal for the device, which will then be made available through all operators.
Earlier this week La Repubblica reported that the iPhone will debut in Italy with Telecom Italia. The network will get an exclusive period in which it will offer the 3G iPhone to consumers, before distribution is widened to all operators, once again the device will be sold unlocked, so users can choose the network and package that suits them best.
