It's February, and that means that Valentine's Day is vast approaching. Here, we bring you Valentine's Day gift ideas, themed apps, love songs and romantic movies to help you get into the spirit.

Send a gift from your iPhone

Apple is offering free laser engravings for Valentine' Day gifts, allowing you to choose a short message that can be found on the back of the device.

You can engrave a romantic message onto the back of an iPad, iPad mini, iPod touch, iPod nano, and, for a less permanent addition to the device, onto Apple's iPad Smart Cases.

You can also get any of your orders gift wrapped, which includes a personal message of your choice. To take advantage of this option, simply tick 'this is a gift' during check out.

To get your order delivered by Valentine's Day, you'll need to order by Monday 11 February.

iTunes Gift Card

You can also get Valentine's Day-themed iTunes vouchers from Apple's iTunes Store. These virtual gift cards can be set up to be sent to your Valentine on 14 February, so he or she can redeem it that same day and use it to purchase songs, apps, TV programmes, films and more. You can also include a message up to 200 characters long to accompany the voucher.

Among the songs available to download on iTunes is a selection of 75 love songs, all of which have been reduced to 59p in the lead up to Valentine's Day. These tracks include songs from Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart and more. And if you fancy buying them all at once, Apple has provided a one click 'Buy All Songs' button that'll set you back £44.25.

There are also plenty of romantic movies available to download or rent from iTunes, including the appropriately named 'Valentine's Day' romcom, The Proposal, Life As We Know It, Love Actually, P.S I Love you and Grease.

Developer Jessie Silveria has created a free app called The Complete Guide to Valentine's Day, which includes a history of the occasion, as well as date and gift ideas, love letter inspiration, and the top 25 most romantic songs…

Apple's Cards app can be used to create and send cards, perfect for personalised Valentine's Day cards. You may just have left it a little late to get one of Apple's £3.99 cards delivered by 14 February though, but there's always next year. SEE: Cards for iPhone review.

There are several different apps that allow you to send eCards to your loved ones this Valentine's Day, including the Cards' app, which has additional card packs for various occasions available for 69p.

Also available is eCards Express HD, which is available for iPad for £1.49. You can choose from a variety of themes and frames to customise and personalise your card.

Red Stamp Cards offers a more modern range of designs, and lets you choose whether you want to send digital or physical cards, or both. You can also create invitations and more. It's a free app, but there are some in-app purchases that bring extra features.

If you're thinking of going out for dinner, you could use an app such as Forkly, which aims to help you discover great places to eat nearby. For more on how to use Forkly, click here.

As for Valentine's Day-themed games, Shrooms 2: Valentine's is available for free from the iOS app store. There's also My Love My Valentine, a 69p level-based game in which players must avoid enemies as they guide their dove to deliver love letters.
