Wacom has debuted a 13-inch version of its Cintiq digital drawing surface, which costs £625 plus VAT.

The Cintiq 13HD likely replaces the five-years-old Cintiq 12WX, adding some of the new technologies found in the Cintiq 22HD and 24HD – though unfortunately not the multi-touch features found on the Cintiq 24HD Touch.

This Cintiq's 13.3-inch LED screen has an HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 (so a pixel density of over 165dpi). It can display 16.7 million colours with a wide viewing angle of 178°.

The detachable stand can let the Cintiq 13HD sit at a choice of four angles: flat, 22°, 35° and 50°.

Other improvements include the an improved cordless and battery-free Pro Pen offers 2,048 levels of pressure and tilt sensitivity.

As with its larger cousins, the Cintiq 13HD has four customisable and application-specific ExpressKeys and a Rocker Ring (above) for quick access to shortcuts. Customisation is achieved through Wacom's software for Mac OS X and Windows (below).

The Cintiq 13HD will ship in April 2013.
