When will the Apple Watch Series 7 be released?

  • Sales began Friday 15 October, 2021 from Apple and other retailers
  • Pre-orders start from 1pm on Friday 8 October, 2021

Unlike with previous iterations of Apple Watch, Apple was coy about when to expect the Apple Watch Series 7 during the company’s September event.

While most previous iterations of Apple Watch have been released within weeks of announcement, usually in late September, Apple only teased a vague Fall (or Autumn for those of us in the UK) release date for this year's entry. Pre-orders are now finally open as of 8 October with wider sales expected from all retailers from 15 October.

While Apple provided no reason for the apparent delay, separate reports from Nikkei and Bloomberg prior to the announcement suggested there could have been production issues with the new wearable.

How much does the Apple Watch Series 7 cost?

  • Prices start at £369/US$399

In the US, the Apple Watch 7 has a starting price of $399 - the same as last year’s Series 6. In the US, prices start at £369, which makes it £10 cheaper than its predecessor.

It’s worth noting that, as with the Series 6, those that purchase the Apple Watch Series 7 will get a three-month subscription to Apple Fitness+ totally free, and Apple has extended that offer to 21 countries as of the announcement.
