Elgato, a leading manufacturer of TV recording software and TV tuners, has updated the EyeTV App for iPhone app to add support for Apple's iPad.
Version 1.1 is optimised to take advantage of the iPad’s much larger, high resolution screen and improved video playback capabilities. Elgato also describes EyeTV 1.1 as a 'Universal App,' which works on both iPhones and iPads.
The app gives full access to EyeTV's program guide for browsing schedules and offers the ability to remotely schedule upcoming shows for recording.
Setting up EyeTV for iPhone/iPad is easy insists Elgato: On a local Wi-Fi network no configuration is needed. When connecting from elsewhere, Elgato's free 'My EyeTV' locator service can automatically find the path to the Mac back at home.
Available from the Apple iTunes App Store, EyeTV costs £2.99 and is a free update for existing owners, requiring the iPhone 3.1.2 Software Update or later.
Eye TV requires a Mac computer. Streaming live TV requires an Intel Core 2 Duo processor or better, EyeTV 3.3.3 or higher and a compatible TV tuner. For live TV streaming over a 3G connection, Elgato’s Turbo.264 HD is recommended.
Elgato EyeTV tuners are available at the Elgato Online Store (www.elgato.com), at Apple retail stores and from local Mac resellers across the UK.
