Several reports have pointed to problems with iTunes crashing after installing the 2.2.1 software update on the iPhone. After running the update, a number of users have claimed that iPhones will no longer sync with iTunes. In some cases iPhones may sync for a short period of time, but eventually crash when attempting to delete songs.

Although one owner claims to have fixed the problem by running a full restore, other users have not been able to remedy the issue after a reset or a restore, or even re-installing iTunes. Apple has not yet verified if the update is the cause of the crashes, or when some form of solution might be available.
