Ableton has announced the upcoming release of Live 7 LE, its easy-to-use, music-making solution for all users.
Live 7 LE is based on industry-standard product, Ableton Live, and offers the majority of the features of that application. Ableton Live 7 LE provides an intuitive interface and recording, songwriting, remixing and DJing tools.
Features include support for 64 audio tracks and unlimited MIDI tracks in each project, along with 32-bit studio quality recording. The software also supports MIDI sequencing for software instruments, and has 20 built-in special audio effects, including delays, filters and more.
The application carries two software instrument: Simpler for creative sample-based synthesis, and Impulse for dynamic, sampled drums. It also supports VST and Audio Unit effects and instruments and offers automatic plug-in delay compensation.
DJ features include real-time time-stretching and warping of AIFF, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC and MP3 files for DJing and instant remixing. For live music sessions, the software can be controlled by any MIDI controller. Multicore and multiprocessor support also feature in the release.
Purchasers also receive two sets of software instruments: Essential Instrument Collection 2 LE Edition by SONiVOX and ChocolateAudio (boxed version only); the collection also includes loops and construction kits by Puremagnetik (boxed version only).
Live 7 LE will be available as a download from the Ableton webshop for €129. The boxed version will be available in stores and the Ableton webshop for €169.. Release is scheduled for the middle of May 2008.
All users who buy and unlock their Live 6 LE between 1 April and 30 July, 2008 will get a free download upgrade to Ableton Live 7 LE when it is released.
