Ambrosia Software has released WireTap Studio 1.0.0, its professional-grade audio recording and editing application.

WireTap Studio users can record audio output from any application, as well as all system audio. The application will also record audio input from any microphone, line-in, or audio input hardware.

The software also offers completely lossless audio editing. This means a user can make an edit/cut for one project and return the audio to the original file for a later edit at another point.

Users can also take files mistakenly recorded at a lower quality and increase the quality at any time, without the need to re-record.

Ambrosia has also introduced a new technology - LivePreview - in this release. This lets audio editors preview audio before capturing it, so editors don't need to make multiple recordings in different bit rates or formats.

The application also integrates clip management features, including search and the capacity to export clips in different formats.

"Want to send your favourite audio clip to your Bluetooth file sharing enabled mobile phone as a ringtone? You got it! How about easily copying your clips to your iPod? Roger that," Ambrosia explains.

WireTap Studio costs $69, is a Universal Binary, and requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
