Apple has acquired UK digital video and audio software publisher Proximity. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
The news — revealed on Proximity's website — brings the company's artbox media asset management products into Apple's fold.
Aimed at TV, news production and post-production video professionals, artbox is designed to let artists and producers to manage clips, animations, still images and audio assets from within one application.
"We are pleased to announce that all Proximity technology and intellectual property, including artbox workgroup and artbox enterprise, was recently acquired by Apple," a statement on the Proximity website reveals.
Existing customers can expect to be contacted by Apple "with details regarding their specific agreements and support requirements," the note explains.
