Five former Apple software engineers will launch their new Fotonauts brand in the coming months.
The team is led by veteran former Apple software developer executive, Jean-Marie Hullot. As explained by TechCrunch, Fotonauts is a desktop/web photography business, based in Paris.
Hullot worked with Apple CEO Steve Jobs in the '80's and left when the Apple co-founder moved on to launch NeXT, where Hullot served as CTO before returning to Apple with Jobs in 1996,when he served as CTO of Apple's software division.
Hullot and many from Apple's Paris-based software engineering team were let go in 2006, "after Hullot reportedly lost an internal political battle over the direction of the iPhone".
Beta versions of the software "should be available in the next month or two," the report explains.
