Apple has released updates for its professional applications and for iLife 08's iPhoto application.

iPhoto 7.1.2 is available now. Apple explains the 14.2MB update, "addresses issues when publishing photos to a .Mac Web Gallery, improves overall stability and fixes a number of other minor issues."

The update also implements a security update designed to protect iPhoto users who subscribe to a "maliciously crafted photocast". This flaw was identified by Nathan McFeters of Ernst & Young's Advanced Security Center, the company said.

ProKit 4.5 is a 22.4MB update designed for users of Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Express, Aperture, Logic Studio and Logic Express. This update offers improved reliability for all users of these pro applications, and is also required for the installation of other application-specific updates.

Both updates are available now through Software Update or directly from the Apple Downloads website.
