FileMaker today launched its new Technical Network offering content and tools to FileMaker database users and developers.

Along with providing access to technical information, software and other developers, the £49 (excluding VAT) per year programme also offers a members-only online forum.
“The new FileMaker Technical Network is for FileMaker database beginners all the way to seasoned developers who want to enhance their FileMaker skills and learn the latest in FileMaker solution development,” said Ryan Rosenberg, vice president of marketing and services, FileMaker, which is a wholly-owned Apple subsidiary company.

“If you create FileMaker Pro solutions for yourself, build them for your organisation, or even develop and distribute FileMaker solutions commercially, FileMaker Technical Network is for you.”
Membership of the network offers members a range of benefits, including access to an online library offering in-depth information on such topics as web integration, linking to external data sources and increasing database performance.

Members also get five free FileMaker applications to help their business: Recruiter, Tasks, Meetings, Donations and Work Requests.

Developers who join the scheme will also get to take part in limited beta tests of new FileMaker software up to 30-days before the official release, and a range of FileMaker Pro Design Packs. The latter include ready-to-use graphics and pre-designed data templates to help members create better looking solutions faster.
The company also announced the FileMaker Business Alliance for organisations whose primary line of business is developing and selling FileMaker products or services.

The FileMaker Technical Network and the FileMaker Business Alliance programmes together replace and enhance the existing FileMaker Solutions Alliance (FSA) programme.  Current FSA members will be automatically enrolled in the new schemes.
