It is now possible to use the Genius recommendation and playlist feature when browsing the iTunes Store on your iPhone and iPad.

The Genius option is available in the Music, Movies and TV Shows categories.

To access the Genius feature in iTunes on the iPhone, simply start the iTunes app, touch More at the bottom right hand side of the screen and you'll see the option at the bottom of the list.

On the iPad, you'll find a Genius tab at the top of each iTunes content section. You do not need to apply an update for the Genius option to appear.

You will need to have Genius turned on in your iTunes account and you can rate recommendations by swiping your finger across them and selecting the Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down icon.

Genius made its debut in version 8 of iTunes, launched in September 2008. Last week, Apple quietly added search filters to the iPad App Store.
