ITV's in-house production arm, ITV Productions, has moved to Mac, at least at some of its workstations.

ITV Productions has replaced some of the editing suites at its Leed production facility with new kit – and chose to use solutions based on Apple's Final Cut Studio and Xsan, an Apple report explains.

ITV's move to embrace the Mac follows a similar progress on the part of the BBC. That broadcasters BBC Factual division recently confirmed plans to use Final Cut to create its high-definition shows, beginning in April 2007.

BBC Worldwide, meanwhile, has adopted QuickTime 7 for its BBC Motion Gallery archive.
