There's just a few weeks left to upgrade older copies of FileMaker to the most recent version of the application.

Earlier this year, FileMaker announced a special extension to its policies covering customer support and upgrade pricing for obsolete versions, in order to help late adopters migrate to FileMaker Pro 8.5.

The extended scheme is scheduled to end on 20 December 2006. While it lasts, licensed owners of older versions may upgrade to FileMaker Pro 8.5 or FileMaker Pro 8.5 Advanced for up to £130 less than regular prices.

The upgrade scheme is applicable to: FileMaker Pro 6; FileMaker Developer 6; FileMaker Server 5.5; and FileMaker Pro 6 Unlimited.

Customers with FileMaker Pro 6, can upgrade to FileMaker Pro 8.5 for £129 before 20 December, £219 after. Customers with FileMaker Developer 6 can upgrade to FileMaker Pro 8.5 Advanced for £199 until after 20 December, £329 after.

FileMaker Server 5.5 upgrade to FileMaker Server 8 costs £399 before 20 December, £650 after. FileMaker Pro 6 Unlimited upgrade to FileMaker Server 8 Advanced costs £1,000 before 20 December, £1,650 after.

FileMaker will no longer sell FileMaker Pro 6 after 20 December.
